Laurence Fox was born into a family deeply rooted in the world of entertainment. His father, James Fox, was a renowned actor, and his maternal lineage included talents such as playwright Frederick Lonsdale and actress Angela Worthington. Raised as an evangelical Christian, Fox's upbringing was noteworthy for its values.
At the age of 13, Fox enrolled at Harrow School but faced expulsion shortly before taking his A-Level exams, which resulted in difficulties securing a place at a university due to a report from Harrow. His journey into the world of acting began after working as a gardener and in an office when he decided to follow in his family's footsteps.
Determined to pursue a career in acting, Fox successfully auditioned for the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA). During his time at RADA, he showcased his talent in various student productions, playing lead roles in notable works such as Ibsen's 'The Wild Duck' and an adaptation of James Joyce's 'Ulysses.' He eventually graduated from RADA in 2001.
