David Mayer de Rothschild was born on August 28, 1978, in London. Mayer is a British adventurer, filmmaker, and heir to the vast fortune of the Rothschild family. As the youngest heir to his family's banking fortune worth millions of dollars, David Mayer has an older brother named Anthony and an older sister named Jessica. Mayer is also said to be one of the few adventurers and environmentalists who embarked on a 100-day Arctic journey from Russia to Canada. In 2007, David Mayer was selected as one of GQ's 'Men of the Year.' He is also one of the 14 people who crossed Antarctica and part of the team that holds the record for the fastest crossing of the Greenland ice sheet. In 2009, he was named an 'environmental hero' by the United Nations Environment Programme and frequently highlights his dedication to nature in his social media posts.
