In the hotly contested U.S. presidential race on November 5th, Donald Trump emerged victorious against Kamala Harris, but it wasn’t just his political allies making headlines. Elon Musk, the CEO of X, Tesla, and SpaceX, was one of Trump's most vocal supporters during the election campaign. Rumors swirled about potential cabinet positions and agreements between the two billionaires. But why exactly did Musk throw his support behind Trump? What’s the connection between this political move, his company X, and his transgender child? The answers may surprise you!

Donald Trump was elected the new president of the United States as the winner of the November 5th presidential election.

Elon Musk spent a total of $120 million on a campaign committee supporting Trump.

At times, Elon Musk risked his life by appearing on stage with Trump, and other times, he was seen jumping with excitement at rallies.

Of course, Elon Musk’s media influence cannot be denied. As the owner of X (formerly Twitter), Musk was highly active during the election process. He even claimed that his biggest competitor, Meta, was unfair during the election period.

Trump certainly didn’t waste Musk's support.

When Trump celebrated his election victory, Musk was by his side, along with his family. So, why did Musk support Trump? It seems there are several reasons.

Elon Musk wasn't always a Trump supporter.

In fact, he described himself as 'politically moderate.' Musk and Trump’s first interaction occurred in 2016 when Trump invited tech leaders to Trump Tower. Over the years, Musk’s support for Trump has been attributed mainly to “business” reasons.

Risk investor and political strategist Bradley Tusk in an interview with Euronews explained:

'Musk believes Trump’s victory will lead to more NASA contracts for SpaceX, more federal contracts for Starlink, more incentives for Tesla, the protection of Section 230 for Twitter, and other opportunities in his portfolio.'

Trump also referred to Musk as a "brilliant guy" and said he would “definitely” appoint him to a cabinet or advisory role.

However, some political figures argued that this was unethical, and that such partnerships could not be made due to conflicts of interest. There are even claims that Musk belongs to the 'techno-libertarian' group, which aims to completely eliminate the state.

Beyond these "business" reasons, Musk’s family issues may have also contributed to his support for Trump.

Musk recently revealed that he regretted allowing his daughter to transition and said he had been 'tricked' into believing she would 'commit suicide' if not allowed to transition.

Musk had permitted his underage daughter to take "puberty blockers," but is now regretful.

Musk claims that his child, ‘his son,’ was 'killed by the woke virus.'

Rejected by his child, Musk has made it clear that he is at war with those he believes are responsible for his child's situation.

Some suggest that Musk's purchase of Twitter is linked to this ongoing battle.

Musk stated, "I didn’t buy Twitter for more money," explaining that he wanted to create a new digital town square.

He summarized his goal for the purchase with these words: 'The reason I bought Twitter is that having a common digital town square where a broad spectrum of beliefs can be discussed healthily, without resorting to violence, is important for the future of civilization.'

Musk also moved SpaceX’s headquarters from California to Texas after California passed laws supporting transgender rights.

His actions and statements have shown he is likely against the LGBTQ+ community. One person whose views align with Musk on this issue is Trump.

Trump announced that if elected, he would reverse Biden’s new policy that provides protections for transgender students and restrict LGBTQ rights.

Trump, who only acknowledges two genders, became Musk’s main ally in the war over his child. It seems that Elon Musk has several reasons for supporting Trump.
