It's sad to know that the live-action animated comedy series Woke won't be continuing beyond its two seasons. The show was created by cartoonist Keith Knight inspired by his life experiences and work.
The comedy show debuted in September 2020, starring Lamorne Morris as the lead Keef, a cartoonist who begins to experience racial inequality issues more vividly after an unpleasant encounter with San Francisco police officers. Woke is unique because it combines live-action with animated excerpts.
The show received favorable ratings and critiques, with 74% on Rotten Tomatoes, a 6.2/10 score on IMDb and an audience score of 72% on Google. With an above-average ranking and possibly room for improvement, it's hard to imagine why Hulu would cancel such a kick-ass comedy series.
So, here’s the answer as to why that is.
