The famous actor, who most recently appeared in the film 'The Dead Don't Hurt,' has not taken on any series roles since playing that epic role in the 2000s. So, what was the reason for this?
Viggo Mortensen revealed the reason in an interview with Vanity Fair.
Mortensen explained that when choosing to take on a film role, he focuses more on the story than the budget.
Having also starred in films such as 'Thirteen Lives,' 'Green Book,' and 'Captain Fantastic,' Viggo Mortensen said in the interview,
'I am not against shooting a film series. But generally, they are not very good. The film's budget, genre, and who is directing it do not matter to me at all. It’s all about the story and, of course, the character. The current series films do not have great stories. Their scripts are very predictable. As an actor, I always face the danger of being without money, but as I said, for me, it's not about the budget but the story.'
It is also uncertain whether Mortensen, who played Aragorn in the Lord of the Rings series, will return to this legendary universe.
