In a recent interview, Viggo Mortensen, who brought the character Aragorn to life in The Lord of the Rings series, revealed why he hasn't appeared in another film series since.
The famous actor, who most recently appeared in the film 'The Dead Don't Hurt,' has not taken on any series roles since playing that epic role in the 2000s. So, what was the reason for this?
Mortensen explained that when choosing to take on a film role, he focuses more on the story than the budget.
'I am not against shooting a film series. But generally, they are not very good. The film's budget, genre, and who is directing it do not matter to me at all. It’s all about the story and, of course, the character. The current series films do not have great stories. Their scripts are very predictable. As an actor, I always face the danger of being without money, but as I said, for me, it's not about the budget but the story.'
You may recall that there was speculation about whether the famous actor would take a role in 'The Hunt for Gollum,' which focuses on Gollum's capture. At that time, Mortensen also emphasized that 'the story' was what mattered.
