XCOM 2: How to Increase Contacts

The sequel to 2012’s XCOM: Enemy Unknown was able to take the winning formula of the classic and at the same time add in various elements and widen the tactical gameplay. This smart move from Firaxis and 2K Games explains why XCOM:2 is still one of the most popular games in the  turn-based tactics game genre.

In the original XCOM, we see the defenders of Earth try desperately and fail miserably in saving the planet from an alien invasion. XCOM:2 will show us the events after they have failed. Is there any hope left or is this another futile resistance for the Extraterrestrial Combat Unit ? The only way to do this is by making Contacts with resistance groups around the world, and getting access to new resources, missions, and income along the way.

Players will start the game with the Contact limit of only 3 and increasing this should be one of their main priorities. You can start increasing your contacts by completing the first Guerilla Ops mission and immediately finishing the research project Resistance Comms. This is vital because it will allow players to build Resistance Comms facilities in the Avenger.

Comms Facilities will cost from 110-160 Supplies, consume 3 Power, and take 16 days to build. Completing this would raise your Contacts limit by 1 and you can hire an Engineer to make that 2.  You can also upgrade the Comms Facilities further which will increase your limit by another 1 and also allows you to hire another engineer that will raise the limit by 4.
