Paramount+ is here with a new Western drama show for the ongoing holiday, 1923, created by Taylor Sheridan.
1923 is a sequel of the famous 1883 series from the same creators and a prequel of Paramount Plus’ Yellowstone.
The show lands months after the fifth season of Yellowstone was completed on Paramount+.
Season one of 1923 follows the origin of the Dutton family, but with a new generation led by Jacob and Cara as the patriarch and matriarch, in a period when the family has a lot to handle.
The series is set in the 20th century when drought, catastrophes, the end of World War I, and other misfortunes befell the mountain west, which the Dutton family has called home for ages. 1923 showcases the Dutton’s family journey to Montana through Oregon.
Yes! Paramount+ posted the official teaser and trailer nearly a month and two weeks ago, respectively, via its UK & Ireland YouTube Channel.
The trailer lasts 1 minute and 40 seconds, with the 20th century, which means a new generation of the Duttons.
The season has a lot in store for fans from the end of World War 1, the significant historic drought, and the Great Depression in the mountainous west, and the Duttons will stick with it all.
1923 is created by Taylor Sheridan, who executive produces alongside Ben Richardson, Bob Yari, Ron Burkle, David C. Glasser, Art Linson, and John Linson.
The series rose from MTV Entertainment Studios, Bosque Ranch Productions, and 101 Studios.
The first season of 1923 boasts many actors, including Harrison Ford as Jacob Dutton, the patriarch, Helen Mirren as Cara Dutton, the matriarch, Darren Mann playing Jack Dutton and Sebastian Roché portraying Father Renaud.
James B. Dale depicting John Dutton Senior and Marley Shelton impersonating Emma Dutton will also appear in the show.
Other characters include Julia Schlaepfer representing Alexandar, Brian Geraghty acting Zane, Aminah Nieves enacting Teonna Rainwater, Michelle Randolph playing Elizabeth Strafford, Jennifer Ehle portraying Sister Mary, and Jerome Flynn depicting Banner Creighton.
Season one of 1923 will launch on Sunday, December 18th, exclusively on Paramount+, with eight episodes.
Paramount+ ordered the second season for 1923 in February 2022, although there’s no confirmation if both seasons will premiere simultaneously or at different periods.
